From Monopoli to Milan to the court of Microsoft, Rina and Digital Magics: 2nd place for the Augmented Reality project “Aures” by MTM Project
“Being able to have a work environment digitally enriched with all the information necessary for monitoring, management and production assistance”.
This is the promise that brought the MTM Project of Monopoli a few days ago to the court of Microsoft Italy in a challenge organized by Digital Magics for Rina.
Today, Italian production companies are at the dawn of a new industrial revolution, which over the years has counted its substantial steps forward. Today’s is number 4 and will certainly be the most radical. The devices available today are no longer simple improvements than the previous ones but are related to new product types. Using viewers and wearables in general will be the norm in a few months and moving in real environments enriched by digital information, dropped directly into our field of vision will allow us completely different daily management methods.
Dear Clayton Christensen in 1997 posed the so-called Innovator’s Dilemma, that is, “what brought you this far will take you no further” hence the need to constantly undertake new development trajectories in order to maintain a substantial competitive advantage. We are also aware that we are at a new “possible adjacent”, a new door on an infinite series of new possibilities hitherto unknown.
In this wake, many visionary companies, with so much effort and a lot of passion, have moved with stubborn anticipation along the path of research, experimentation, building solutions that today finally find real application in the most varied industrial fields.
On 25 September 2019 the MTM Project came second (out of 170 companies) in its first competition related to the world of Augmented Reality, presenting its product “Aures” and the administrator Giuseppe Modugno, said he was extremely happy to have achieved a similar result. at the first competition.
Aures is the software system that allows you to view the procedures inside the smartglass and smartphone
operations in augmented reality to be performed, step by step; view production data and documentation; carry out remote assistance and video calls; manage the sequences of operations with voice and manual commands; record audio and automatically transform them into text documents; record videos and take photos; translate the speech of the various operators simultaneously. All with a simple and intuitive user interface.
